Arenas and Stripper Lips

This is exactly how varried my life has become...thank goodness! lol. First I will explain how the arena is important in my life then....the stripper lips...lol.

I am a horse girl which is wildly evident. I have lived in this beautiful place I call home for close to 25 years. Well I have ridden most of this time and I like to compete. When competing you must have a place to practice and train. I have for all these years have had disked ground to work on but not exactly flat..lol. Well now my "arena" is nearly flat. We do live the beautiful mountains...so it is a flat as it is going to get. lol. I am so incredibly happy. Plans are to have lights and speakers up late this summer.

On to stripper lips...I have a 20 minute drive to work every day. On this drive I listen to a radio show and Laurie, the announcer, was giving out 10 tips from strippers...lol. Well the one that stuck out to me was how to obtain stripper lips. So I now have stripper lips..lol. Wanna know how? Brush your lips with your tooth brush, then apply vasaline...lololol. I use another product, but I am brushing them. lolol.

Life certainly changes when you are an empty nester and not hauling kids everywhere. lol.

Universities

Oh gosh I love my job! Today I got to take a group of students with 2 teachers to a Cal State University. I love touring the different campuses all over the state. It is so inspirational and energizing to see all the students engrosed in acadamia...lol. I love the youth and energy found on a college campus. I really enjoy sharing this with our students. They are so fortunate to be able to see the different campuses our great state offers. I love planting that seed!

The weather was incredible and beautiful today. It rained here at home today though when we were gone. I am pooped and have nothing inspirational going through my brain..lol...

Night all!

Our Road

Today the much needed Saturday arrived. I am enjoying the damp weather that was gifted to us last night. I woke to rain falling on our tin roof, it was a very welcome relief to the dry weather we have been having in the Central Sierra Mountains as of late. So as I sit here slurping my coffee and enjoying the wet ground I hear the Road Man fixing the path to our home. We live at the end of a very bumpy mile long dirt road and should keep it graded and nice yearly. The key word being "should" lol. So we did nothing to it last year so this year we hired out the work. lol. Oh my gosh have we worked on this road, we have used an old grader that was designed to be horsedrawn and converted to hook to a tractor or truck. Hubby bouncing on the contraption and stearing it while usually his brother at the wheel on the tractor or truck. We have also used numerous tractors and cats. Hubby has broken many many many rocks by hand with a maul. We have lived at the end of this dirt path for comming on 25 years (well hubby much longer) and boy do we have many memories associated with it.

When our children were little there were times when I did not have a 4x4 and let me tell you that is needed here in the winter time. When we were in said 2 wheel drive truck I would have to get a run at a couple of the hills when the mud was slick and snotty in the middle of winter on our mile long up hill drive...poor kiddos. lol. I would tell them hang on! And away we would go...poor kiddos they would bounce and hit their heads on the roof and we plowed on out to what ever activity required the departure from our very rual home. lol.

Well our road repair person had to call it quits early today because of the much needed rain that began to create a mud pit. lol. Road repair is much like washing your car...you are quaranteed rain if you decide to bite the bullet and complete the task. lol.

So you all should apreciate your wonderfuly paved short drives..lol.

Well....

I have had a very normal boring end to my week. I rearranged my desk at work and have been riding and resting when I get home. lol. No thought provoking thoughts or ramblings coming my way. No awe-inspiring moments or comical antictdotes ready to fall out of my mouth. Just plain ole wife and wanna-be barrel racer living the day to day life. lol.

I did discover something pretty neat today though, while I was at work surfing the net, yes I get paid to do that. lol. I discovered iGoogle. Pretty cool, you can set up a homepage with lists, calendars and much more. The cool part is that you can access it from any computer. Go give it a try.

Until next time....

My Project

Heart ready for her ride

Being a nice broke horse.

I have a day job, I am a Career Center Tech at a High School. That means I help kids figure out what they want to be, decided what type of education to get, where to go to school and how to pay for it. lol. Big job and a lot of fun. When I get home I am part time book keeper and full time cow checker. lol. But my biggest project right now is training our 3 year old filly. I am loving it. She is so fun! I have never trained a horse from start to finish...I did cheat and send her out for 90 days to be started. But I am on my own for now..lol. I might not totally finish by myself but we shall see!

My Tupperware Drawer

In my house this is an over sized drawer filled to the brim and barely closeable. As my poor husband was looking for a travel mug this morning he discovered my secret. My Tupperware drawer contains the story of my life. I has very old Tupperware lids that belonged to my mother in law whose containers are long past gone. In there you will find old thermoses that my children carried with them back and forth to kindergarten, metal glasses from kids early years, sippy cups that have been long forgotten from toddler guests, travel mugs with missing lids, water bottles from various promotions, reusable soda cups, old jar rims from jam jars long scense broken and you will also find the last place that I do not want to clear out. I have very few places in my house that I will not purge easily...lol. I relieved my closet last summer of the numerous pairs of cowboy boots I have owned from the beginning of my marriage 24 years ago. That was tough! Now the Tupperware drawer! I don't know if I can bring my self to go through the memories and then to discard the physical reminders. lolol. I did promise my husband though that he will be able to find a travel mug with a lid...lol.

Inspiration!

http://www.penlandfarms.com/blog.htm

This is the blog that has inspired me! My dear friend Beth has created a place where she able to share with the world and her family her very exciting and comical life.

I am truely inspired by the individuals I meet daily. I meet them in the form of teenagers (I work at a High School), co workers, internet friends, and even in passing at the grocery store. I can be the kid that is living in their car, keeping a 4.0 in college prep courses (true story, more than once) or the co worker going through a divorce with the best attitude towards life you have ever seen. I meet people who are really hard dedicated workers (Polly, Katie, Laura, Sheridan). These girls keep me on my toes! I meet people who are incredibly kind (Danelle) and patient (Butch). All of these individuals keep me thinking and striving.

Who are your inspirations?

Electrical Cords and Sissy

We live each day with more and more cords. We have cords to attach things to our computers, to our TV’s , electrical cords for every thing from surge protectors to irons. Do we really need to live with all of the new necessities? True they are nice and make life easy! I love to have iron clothes to go to work in. I love to have dried hair before I lay the flat iron against it. I love for my husband to be able to shave so I don’t have whisker burn. I enjoy watching TV in the living room with the light turned on. I find it very handy to have various extension cords to plug in the lights and computer necessities. Well Sissy, my beautiful Red Heeler puppy does not think that I need any of the above listed items to live a productive life. This is my shopping list I must take with me the next time I hit the big city. She has destroyed all of these things…lolol. Oh I forgot the $90 wool sweater too. Lol. I love her still and have not even gotten mad once…lol. She is right we do not NEED these things to live happy lives they are only icing on the cake. Sissy is the necessity!

Lessons

Well I missed a day. My life is a tad busy, but not so busy that I am not enjoying my self to the fullest! My mind and creative juices are working overtime...I want to say so much and create so much and so quickly on this blog that it all jams up in my peanut size brain..lol. So one foot in front of the other and all that..lol. Beth (my sister from another mother and father..lol) suggests that I save my poor family from humiliation and embarrasement by using alternative names....she might be on to something...:)

I have learned in my short time here in this life that it is best to look at the postive in everything...people..situations and just gosh darn everything. I was sharing my views with a co worker and it is fun to watch people get to know you, you watch them while you are speaking and expressing your thoughts and their face changes as they see a little bit more who you are. So that was one of my big lessons yesterday....we are onions, layer upon layer, and people only can see those layers if we share with one another.

I work at a high school so I get lessons from people every day! We had a great day yesterday as it was our Military Career Fair an event I created to make the recruiters happy..lol. It is fun we spend the morning out in the student park visiting! I love to visit!

I better call it good for today before I ramble too much and make no sense or nonsense..lolol!!!

Work in Progress (Both the blog and I)

As I am trying to figure out how to make this blog interesting, I am trying to add pictures and all and this is one of the few photos I have on this computer... this it the beautiful place I call home. My passion beside my family are my horses and barrel racing. Right now I am in training and wannabe mode but my goals of flying in and out of the arena with a screaming crowd always remain. This is what is done to accpomlish said goal. My daughter is on the right and I on the left, poor thing is listening to lament on the necessary cues needed for the newly started filly she is on. One of my goals this year has been to hush while others are enjoying my ponies...what ever they do wrong is not "wrong" in the big picture and if it is I can fix it later...lol..having company ride with me is more important than being right. :)

Well I finally did it!

I decided in all my "Dork of the World" wisdom that it was time for me to begin to put the saga that is my life down for all to see....YIKES! lol.

So please bear with me while I figure this out and then I will begin posting my daily stories!

Kellie :)
